To help stimulate and contribute positively to the overall economic progress of the communities where we operate, Corixa will be donating stand- alone solar systems to power schools, health clinics, community centers and streets lights.
For every 1MW of power commissioned by government, Corixa will provide a 10KW solar system to the rural community.
A 10KW system could power a small village school of 100 children, and, with some supplementary batteries that we will also provide, have enough remaining energy to power an outdoor football field at night.
Corixa is strongly committed to helping rural communities in Africa meet their basic energy needs.
Whilst our solar plants will enable African governments to utilise their additional energy capacity to expand further into rural communities (through grid extension), Corixa will also directly be providing sustainable power solutions to the rural communities who need them most.
Corixa’s overriding focus is to create a better“everyday life” for people by providing basic needs.
Corixa have already commenced our CSR through sponsorship of orphanages in Harare, Zimbabwe. We will continue to operate intense CSR programmes within each country that we operate (3% of gross profit will be dedicated to these programmes).
Across the world, 59 million children and 65 million adolescents are out of school. More than 120 million children do not complete primary education. Without investment in quality education, progress onall other development indicators will stagnate.
Education is a human right. And, like other human rights, it cannot be taken for granted.
